Accessibility

Accessibility involves creating learning materials, advertisements, and environments that are usable by individuals with disabilities. This includes making websites, Learning Management Systems, and physical spaces accessible to people with various impairments, such as visual, auditory, motor, or cognitive challenges.

Accessibility is essential for fostering inclusivity, ensuring that everyone can fully participate in our college community. It not only improves the experience for all users but also strengthens legal compliance and broadens the accessibility of learning materials and events. By prioritizing accessibility, we show our dedication to equity and provide opportunities for all individuals to engage, learn, and succeed.

It is imperative that all course content is accessible to our students. In April 2024, the Department of Justice published a rule stating that state and local governments' web content and applications must be accessible by April 26th, 2027, for governments with less than 50,000 people. There is no exception for educational course content.
